Hello and welcome to JustAnswer! I am sorry to hear you are having problems with your vehicle. You will be automatically offered a phone call by the website, which I am not personally able to complete. A phone call is not necessary or required and you can ignore the offer if you wish. Does it crank but not start?

Yeah it cranks it doesn't startNo I'll just do it through text

The fuel gauge and voltmeter stay down with the key on now, correct?

Everything on my gauge says zeroMy security key lights on and everythingBut my key works fine so it's not none of that something's causing my car not to workCould it be the ground strap wireThat hooks up to the frame to the engine

What you're describing is the powertrain control module being down. If the PCM is the only module that won't communicate and fuses are good then the problem is most likely the PCM itself but it will require testing to determine that for sure. The PCM's powers and grounds would need to be load tested, the 5v reference circuits would need to be tested for a short to ground, and the sensor ground circuit would need to be tested for a short to voltage. If all is ok then the PCM will need to be replaced.

I got a voltage tester
Automotive Expert
If you mean a voltmeter that would be used to check the sensor circuits.

It's happened to me before but I did something and I fixed it but I don't know what I fixed the last time
Automotive Expert
If the PCM is down it could be wiring, an internally shorted sensor or the PCM itself.

Last time this happened to me my ASD relay switch was clicking rapidly fast on the 85 pin
Automotive Expert
Not unexpected.

This is what it's doing
Automotive Expert
Yes, the fuel gauge and voltmeter do not work.

Yeah none of them work
Automotive Expert
Understood.

I fixed the problemIs the spark plugs in the coil rail
Automotive Expert
The plugs are under the coil.

I already knew the spark plugs were under the coil I'm the one that took it apart in the first place what a waste of $4 if you don't know how to work on a carI'm the one that fixed it nobody else I was just asking for help
Automotive Expert
You asked 'is the spark plugs in the coil rail'.

I'll tell him the problem was is when I was driving down the road it got too hot the spark plugs got too hot and turned the car off I had all I had to do was replacing my old spark plugs put them in the car started right up
Automotive Expert
Spark can't cause the PCM to be down if thats what you're trying to say.

The PCM wasn't down it was reading a bad connection to my coil rail because my spark plugs weren't workingThe Jeep I got is a 1999 year but the engine was rebuilt by somebody before me so it's like a 2002 year with different parts all in the inside of the engine
Automotive Expert
If you no longer need help there is no need to reply.

I know how to work on cars I already know what to do on how to fix the part I was just asking for help on why it wouldn't start but I found the problem on my own
