Been having issues with starter clicking instead of start...

is if fast clicking or a single click or cluck with east start attempt?

I used my jumper cables and went from hot terminal of battery to hot on starter and tried to start it and it started. So i know what is the problem there. But today I went to try to start it and the key wouldn't turn in the ignitionBut it was a single click. I tried cleaning the connections and it still clicked. But started with the cablesThat was before this morning when the ignition wouldn't turn

starts with battery cables? need a new battery.

No the battery is fineOr I wouldn't have been able to use the cables

if you need to use someone else battery to jump start you car then your battery is faulty

No I used my own battery

ok i got what u did now

I just basically made a new connection from battery to starter and it started.But I had already cleaned the connections. So idk

do this take the starter relay out in the fuse box. Jump pin 30 and 87 see if the starter will turn then

I tried switching relay with a different one but made no differenceBut right now I can't do anything till I figure out y the key wont turn in the ignition all of a sudden

not swap the relay jump the connections in the fuse box

Ok. Ill try that but it wont start if I can't get the key to turn on in the ignition

the wheel is locked wont turn either?

The wheel wont lock. I tried thatit is in park. I even tried it in neutral

use you right had as a hammer reach through the wheel and turn the key while using your other had to kit the key like a hammer

yes key nail hand hammer it will wiggle the tumblers loose common thing

SO what you do is when the key is freeded the you can see if the ign switch is the issue or where the starter corrosion is at. The key cylinder is common in jeeps to get stuck like that plenty of youtube videos on how to replace them.
