So, when you turn the key to the start position, what happens? Does the engine rotate but not start OR does the engine not rotate at all?

It rotates, it will try to crank up but die out. Then, after maybe 2 more turns it will start. I only have this problem after i have driven the car and stopped a few times.

Ok thanks, \*\*\*\*\* \*\*\*\*\* does sound like you are missing fuel pressure. So, step one would be to put a fuel pressure gauge on it and see if it fact the fuel pressure does not build right awat. If it doesn't, then I would be testing power and ground circuits to the pump to see whether the pump is getting turned on right away or not. The results of that testing will determine your next steps.

I have a 2006 jeep commander, and i noticed that I have turn the key a few times before the car actually starts. I had a mechanic look at it and he told me that i will need a new [fuel pump](/topics-fuel-pump-jeep/). So he put in a new fuel pump and module and a new Catilyst converter. it started up with no problem but when I stopped at the gas station and tried to crank the car up again it would not start and I had to do it a couple more times before it would start.
