Q: I was told that my serpentine belt was going out over a week and half ago in my 2010 Ford Fusion SE

asked by on September 06, 2017

I was told that my serpentine belt was going out with pieces missing and things of that sort (normal wear and tear) but I didn’t get it fixed at the time (over week and half ago). Now my car is smoking subtly towards the front of the engine bay and near the right side where the battery is (but not the battery) and the reason why I’m even asking is because if it had to do with something regarding the serpentine belt wouldn’t it be on the left side where the belt is? But I want to know if this is a transmission problem or a serpentine belt problem. Also my car doesn’t want to accelerate past 20 mph also and it shakes subtly.

My car has 100200 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.
