Q: I downshifted into 3rd gear while releasing the clutch and then my clutch went completely loose and my vehicle started leaking 2005 Ford Mustang

asked by on March 31, 2017

Hello Patrick I have a 2005 Mustang Gt with Maunual transmission. I was driving on the freeway and downshifted into 3rd gear while releasing the clutch, the pedal went completely loose I had to coast to the side of the road because I was unable to-engage the clutch to put it in gear. I turned the car off and started it but it then died I tried starting it again and it was running weird but It turned it of. I then I noticed was leaking a good amount fluid from were the transmission meets the fly wheel area.I couldn't tell what the fluid was but it was not red in color, but more clear with a slightly burnt sweet smell. My car then eventually started to loose battery power and eventually died. When the tow truck driver dropped me off we used a car charger to power my car and my vehicle on my dash read CHECK BRAKE SYSTEM and also CHECK CHARGING SYSTEM. Im just curious what you think could be the issue, Is it something to do with the master or slave cylinder or is it possibly a blown engine

My car has 104000 miles.
My car has a manual transmission.
