I got a remote start installed into my 2007 Honda Accord recently but now it won’t start with the remote or the key. Lights on the dash come on but won’t start. What can it be Mechanic's Assistant: Have you checked the fuses? The dashboard bulbs? The dash comes on. The car just won’t start with the remote start or my key my windows are cracked and I can not close them neither I can only use the original key to unlock my doors or lock it Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Accord yourself? What have you tried so far? Yes and I haven’t tried anything yet tbh besides trying to use my key since my remote start won’t work Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you? That is all

Hello Lisa. Nice to hear from you today! I'm sorry to hear you are having this problem. I know this can be frustrating. Did this issue start to occur immediately after the remote start was installed?

No It has been about a month or 2 since it’s been InstallefInstalled\*

Are you seeing any warning lights come up on the dash that indicates there is a security issue at all like a light that says security or theft or has a picture of a key or a car with a lock across it?

NoThe lights on the dash come on but no other lights like battery oil etc. none of that come on. Only the regular dash lights

Thank you for that information! Have you tried to jump-start your vehicle or have you tried putting a charger on the vehicle battery to see if it starts then at all? Does the battery, engine light, oil light, etc. come on when the ignition is turned on at all?

it still didn’t work and no the battery oil etc light does not come on

Thank you for your reply and that information as this does help me better understand the situation. Please give me one moment to type out some info for you. I’ll be right back! Thank you for holding Lisa! The first thing that should be done is to have all of the fuses checked in all fuse panels in your vehicle to see if any blown fuses are located. If a blown fuse is found it will need to be replaced to resolve this issue. If the fuses are all checked and found to be o.k. and with the issue that you have described, this sounds like a fault with the electronic ignition switch to where it is failing internally and has to be replaced. This is usually not tied to the remote start fault since this issue occurred a couple of months after the remote start was installed. In order to pinpoint the ignition switch as the cause and to see if anything else is at fault what needs to be done is to have a fully compatible scan tool plugged into your vehicle's data port that can read all of the computers in your vehicle to see if any fault codes are stored with this issue. Once this has been done, any codes that come up can then be diagnosed to help pinpoint and repair this issue. This will require the use of a high-end scan tool that can read all of your vehicle's computers. If you do not have a scan tool to check the fault codes yourself a shop or dealer can check the fault codes as well as diagnose the issue for about a 1-hour labor charge ( around $100 ). The cost to repair the problem varies as it depends on which component has failed that requires repair or replacement.

Ok thank you
