What does the Front Passenger Air Bag status light mean?
The front passenger air bag status light shows up on the center of the dash, not in the gauge cluster. It’s designed to tell you several different things.
Primarily, this light tells you if the passenger side air bag is active or not. If the light is on, then the air bag is not active. It should be on if:
No one is sitting in the seat
A non-adult passenger is in the seat
The light should be off if there is someone sitting in the seat. If it’s on but the seat is occupied by an adult, it might mean there’s something wrong with the air bag system.
