Hey just checking back in on this, do you know if it's the 4 speed or the 6 speed automatic? The neutral safety switch on the 4 speed would be the same as the old one so it should work. I would scan for codes first, as it sounds like it may be in limp mode. Limp mode only allows the truck to drive in 2nd gear.
