High I have a 2006 mustang gt. I had a diagnostic done and was told my blend door actuator needed to be replace bc my air would only blow cold air and no heat. I did the repaid myself and noticed my temperature control module didn’t work and was activating the actuator to move Mechanic's Assistant: Have you checked to make sure the [thermostat](/topics-thermostat-ford/) is working? What about the [coolant](/topics-coolant-ford/) level? I just had a new thermostat installed 2 months ago so that can’t be the problem Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Mustang GT yourself? What have you tried so far? Yes. I’ve replaced the temperature blend door actuator to switch my air from hot to cold but it blowing cool air Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you? Is it possible my temperature control panel is bad

If you replaced actuator but it still isn't working then that would either mean control panel or wiring between actuator and control panel so problem is definitely most likely the control panel. Here is a wire diagram to help with testing, let me know if you have questions. Thanks. - [https://www.dropbox.com/s/1ajheels47k4kkh/actw.pdf?dl=0](https://www.dropbox.com/s/1ajheels47k4kkh/actw.pdf?dl=0)

The blower control knob works but the temperature control and vent control do not. When I turn the air flow control on it stays to defrost vents

I would recommend pulling actuator and watching actuator without it installed to see if it moves, if not then problem is wiring or controller. If it does then the door itself is broken. Let me know how it goes or if you run into questions, thanks.

Yea, I tried moving it without it being installed and it didn't work. So I manually moved the vent open and closed but still no warm airOr heat. Just cool air

With that being said I'd also check hoses going into heater core, both should be hot but one should be a little cooler then other.

would you suggest changing the heater coreI had a diagnostic done but they only told me the actuator. I checked both hoses last wk they both were hot. Couldn't really distinguish a temperature difference

When you had diagnostic done they probably checked codes in the control unit which said actuator. If that is case problem could only be actuator, wiring, or control panel. I'd consider pulling out a differnet actuator to compare movement and maybe try to swap them if you can.

I did notice a small area on the control panel circuit board was black where it was burned out.
Automotive Expert
That is probably the area of concern but we don't go into control paneling repair so I wouldn't be much help there. But you should be able to find a used one for cheap on ebay or www.car-parts.com Let me know how it goes or if you run into questions, thanks.
