Hello and welcome to JA.... is the check engine light on or has it been on recently?

The check engine light was on for a few hours(before I replaced the IAC). It had a P0300 codeNow its offRandom multiple cylinder misfire

Okay the fees are or 300 code is for a random cylinder misfire, however that will not cause the title to increase at all. Is there any way you could get the vehicle scan for codes? Do you have access to a code reader? Because I would like to know if there are any other codes because with the vehicle idling at 3500 RPM there must certainly be an issue that would be indicated by a code being generated by the PCM

I can't get the codes tonight but it didn't have a check engine light

ok, even though the check engine light is not on, there may still be a code. My thought is that the TP sensor signal is out of range, which will definately cause the high idle, but before we go down that avenue, I'd like to make sure there are no other codes in the system.

so , if possible, can you have the system scanned for codes and then let me know exactly what codes are in the system? Advance Auto, Auto Zone, Pep Boys, these places will scan the system for free, just don't let them sell you anything, as they will most likely try to sell you something. ok, great. just get back to me the way you are now and we can continue.

I just got the car scanned I got the same codes, for a random misfire

Ok.....with the engine running, unplug the tp sensor and tell me if the rpms come down

the car has not acted up again yet

Okay, well the next time it happens unplug the TP sensor and see if the idle returns to normal
