Well, it means there is an issue with the AWD.
There is likely or should be a code stored in the computer to point us in the right direction for diagnosis. This could be a speed sensor issue or a sensor in the [transmission](/topics-transmission-ford/) causing the problem. You can still safely drive the car, but I would at least try to have it scanned so we can resolve the issue.
