Q: Engine locked

asked by on March 07, 2017

I went to get my oil changed at a oil shop and they said I had a leak in my transmission gasket. They changed that and I was driving out of the oil change place and as I accelerated my car didn't sound the same. So I stopped on a side street and started back up going back to the oil change place. As I was making a U turn my car stopped. My question now is if they put the wrong oil filter on could my car lose oil? And to lose oil would it leak on the ground?

My car has 216000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.
