Q: Door unlocked alarm, no power window or door lock on driver door only, interior light comes on with L turn signa

asked by on February 07, 2017

Every time I use the Left turn signal I have a driver door alarm trigger and the interior light comes on. The turn signal is still operational. When this started happening, my power door lock and power window on the driver's door stopped working. Controls for other windows and doors (located on the driver's door) still work normally. No problems with Right turn signal. I've read this is a problem with the L driver's door wiring harness, likely one of the wires connecting the door controls to the car is frayed and should be simple to fix. Is it possible to have a YourMechanic look at this and repair it (assuming this is the problem) or are mechanics required to replace the entire wiring harness (which would be much more expensive--and obviously I'd like to avoid if possible).

My car has 166000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

I have a Ford Triton 5.4L Engine with a loud knocking noise,

02 Mitsubishi Lancer, no signal to injectors from ecm. Will the crank or cam sensor cause this? How do I check if it that or ecm?
You're right in that the crank sensor (CKP) is the primary trigger for the injection pulse. But the only way to reliably check the CKP output is with a scope. If you don't have a scope, all you can check...
Why is my 2004 Honda Civic sputtering and dying after the oil was changed
Hello. This can be caused by a lot of different things. It can be from the oil issue. That could have resulted in an internal engine failure or an issue with the variable valve timing system. This system uses oil...
