Working on my 1976 k5 blazer. I checked to make sure the wires are connected to the distributor but am not getting any spark to the plugs. \ Mechanic's Assistant: How many miles are on the Chevrolet? Ok - it is an H.E.I unit - they are self contained electronics - all you need is 12v at the BAT terminal on the cap, but it also has to have 12v while cranking

Right. I had spartan yesterday. But for some reason dont today.

It just needs the 12v and the engine has to be grounded

How do I check my grounds on the engine?

Test light probe to battery positive - clip to any bolt on the engine block - should light up

if I dont have a test light probe?
