Good Afternoon, my name is \*\*\*\*\* \*\*\*\*\* ill be helping you, so sorry to hear about the issues here on the Hummer. I know how frustrating it can be to deal with a rough idle. Now just so im clear before the spark plugs the vehicle ran fine?

okay thank you. we likely either got one or multiple bad plugs out the box or we had an issue during install. i would recommend we pull the plugs back out and check them to make sure there is no obvious damage. then check the gap and make sure they are installed and torqued correctly. if the issues remain even after verifying everything i would recommend we try another set of plugs since faulty plugs out the box happen a lot more often than you think.

Oh sorry i forgot to mentioned that. I had already done that with a second set of plugs. First set was oem ac delco and it didn't work. So i went and got a 2nd set which is autolite and still didn't work. I have not torque to spec but only hand tight on all the spark plugs.Was hoping for a check engine light but nothing so i am completely clueless now.

gap should be set at .040 and torque is 13 ft lbs. okay well you are definitely misfiring and being that is was fine before we would need to rule out spark first. your next bet would be to charge the battery up again so you can keep cranking and use a noid light or spark tester to verify that the plugs are firing when they need to. if not and this is the second set of plugs then we can suspect a deeper electrical issue such as a faulty crank sensor or a failed engine computer. its unlikely than an issue came up out of nowhere but not impossible.

Well i gap it at .043 and hand tight the plugs. Guess i need to go and get a spark plug tester. How i go about using the plug tester?Guess i will get back in here after i go shopping for the plug tester then.

real quick, check the IGN 1 fuse in the fuse box under the hood on the drivers side. should be 15 amps and its what feeds the coils power. you would need to install the tester on the end of coils and ground out the other and look for the flash or use a noise light set on the coil itself to verify spark
