Hello and welcome to Just Answer. I'm Paul, And happy to help you with your question today. most common cause of stalling when coming to a stop on these is the Mass Air flow sensor. You can try cleaning the Mass air flow sensor and the throttle body to see if it helps. If it still stalls I would have the computer scanned for codes and suspect a bad Mass Air Flow sensor. If you need more help just reply, and let me know. Thank you, Paul

Thanks Paul

No problem

Paul the idle air part doesn’t have to do with the problem ether my brother says when he takes it for a drive it dies and when I stop at a traffic light it dies to it I’m sorry for asking to many questions the truck cranks up good
Automotive Expert
the idle air part generally increases idle when [engine](/topics-engine-chevy/) is cold. the Mass air flow sensor is more common cause for stall and low idle.

Paul I have another question what’s the main problem that causes service engine soon light come on the Chevy s10 my shows up
Automotive Expert
The engine light can come on for 100's of reasons. when the light comes on a fault code is stored in the computer. this will also help you know why its stalling. bring it to a national chain auto parts store like Advance or Autozone and they can read the fault for you for free.

Paul I have a code reader at the house I switch out my [spark plugs](/topics-spark-plug-chevy/) the wires

File attached (11VPT74)

File attached (GL7145Z)

File attached (MGM375V)

I already switch those out

the heater circuit code could be a bad sensor or a short in the harness to the oxygen sensor but it would not be the cause of your stalling. the misfire could make it run rough. but the parts I listed originally the Mass Air Flow sensor and a dirty throttle body are the most common cause of stalling at lights.

Thanks for helping me out

No problem

It’s the mass air flow making it stall are die how do I change the harness to the oxygen sensor to the heater circuit code I’m sorry for bothering you
Automotive Expert
it could be a bad oxygen sensor or a wiring problem you need to test for power at the wires with key on one of the wires should have 12 volts and the other ground on the sensor when key is first turned on. if you have power and ground the sensor is bad. if you don't you need to check the wiring and fuse.

Is the mass flow sensor going to be up a top the filter in the hood
Automotive Expert
its just past the air cleaner see below. [https://peapull.com/o/1609977431.pdf](https://peapull.com/o/1609977431.pdf)

Should I switch the mass flow sensor scene my truck a 2001 or to see if I need a new one
Automotive Expert
for stalling at stops I would suspect the mass air flow sensor you could try cleaning it first and also clean the throttle plate but if it does not help then I would replace it.

Even when you drive the truck to it dies
Automotive Expert
does it run rough? when it dies does it restart? it dies even when going at 10+ MPH?

It shakes sometimes it doesn’t make any sound it dies
Automotive Expert
when it dies does it start back up right away?

Sometimes it doesI barely put the key so I can put it in at park so I can crank it upIt cranks up good
Automotive Expert
the [ignition coil](/topics-ignition-coil-chevy/) wiring is a common problem that can cause these to die while driving but start back up [https://peapull.com/o/1610039088.pdf](https://peapull.com/o/1610039088.pdf) look to that report and at the end you can see what the technicians found. If this does not help you might need to bring it in for a diagnostic which runs $100-130 at shop. these are the common causes of stalling on this beyond that you would need to have the diagnostic

It didn’t crank up right awayIt dies when you drive it it dies when you stop
Automotive Expert
if it doesn't crank up right away you need to check to see if you are loosing fuel pressure or spark you could have a bad coil , crankshaft sensor or fuel pump. Unfortunately it looks like you will need to have a diagnostic done for $100-130 but the most common issues are the ones I listed we are unable to walk through all those tests here

Should i take it in for a diagnostic test
Automotive Expert
I would recommend it as you don't want to be replacing parts without being sure
