Hi Rosana. Nice to see you today! I'm sorry to hear you are having this problem. I know this can be frustrating. Please give me one moment to type out some information for you. Sit tight one minute... I'll be right back! Thanks for holding, Rosana. From what you are describing here, this sounds like it will be a problem with the Engine Coolant Temp (ECT) Sensor. This sensor monitors the coolant temp and reports that temp to the on-board computer. The on-board computer uses that temp info for cooling fan operation as well as other functions. If the ECT is faulty and reports the wrong temp, this can simulate the engine over heating. The ECT Is located on the driver's side of the engine near the thermostat housing. For an image location view, click here: https://bit.ly/3haVXNI. Inspect the electrical connector and wire harness for any loose, broken or damaged wires. If no problems are found, replace the ECT. to replace, unplug the electrical connector and using a deep socket over the sensor, unscrew from the engine. If ECT replacement does not solve the problem, then unfortunately, deeper diagnostics into the on-board computer and the circuit to the ECT will need to be done.

Can you explain to me by a picture where the sensor is located please
Automotive Expert
Yes, Rosana. Click the link I sent above for the image location view.

That picture does not show the ECT. If you follow the upper [radiator](/topics-radiator-chevy/) hose to where it connects to the engine, this is the thermostat housing. The ECT is mounted to the front base of the housing, as shown in the image I sent above.

Ok now I have a better idea.
