I have an 01 Chevy s10 and my headlights aren’t working. All fuses and relays are good but I’m getting no power to the headlights. I’m thinking it’s the multifunction switch but just looking for a little help Mechanic's Assistant: Is the power loss consistent, or does it fluctuate? From what I can see testing by myself it’s just no power at all, all the other lights work just no headlights Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your S10 yourself? What have you tried so far? Yes, checked and replaced fuses and bulbs, checked all relays, checked all grounds. Everything is working as it should aside from the headlights themselves.... oh and if I manually turn the lights on the high beam indicator is always on Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you? Nopw

I replaced all of the relays and bulbsI checked for power at the DRL relay and didn't find anythingYesterday when I noticed the problem my headlights would not turn off at all, I changed the DRL relay now they don't turn on at all
Automotive Expert
ok did you check all the fuses? the big battery fuse the fuse#7 # the ly=t headlight fuse?
Automotive Expert
you need to check for the power from tyhe headlight replay to the drl relay,,it gos through the headlight relay first the problem good be the switch, you will need to do some testing, i can give you a great wire diagram that can help you find the problem the problem could also be your dimmer switch.

I ordered a new multifunction switch so I was going to try that next
Automotive Expert
or the grounding relays

I already replaced the headlight grounding relay that's in the dash it wasn't that
Automotive Expert
well, you rellly need to do some testing before buying

I figure it was either the headlight grounding relay or the multifunction switchI'm going to go do some testing then
Automotive Expert
i think it is the multiufunction switch,, but that is my guess.. you really need to test,,they also go through the body control module i will give you a good diagram please click the link https://www.dropbox.com/s/vwfcscjdrnw9grq/0125-s10.pdf?dl=0 thanks

I already inspected the bcm and it looks all good. That's why by elimination the only thing I haven't tried is the multifunction
Automotive Expert
ok use that diagram i sent you,,check for a ground at the lights first then for power and back up til you find it then you will know where you are loosing either the power or ground thanks

Ok thanks
