Q: Q: Car shuts off while driving

asked by on

My car shuts off while I am driving it.

Hello. This comes up often on your vehicle. The most common cause of your car suddenly shutting off is a bad main relay. This can also be caused by a failing sensor or distributor, but that is not as common. A mechanic would need to check and see if the engine is lacking spark or fuel when this occurs and also see if there is power coming from the relay when it is happening. This will help isolate the problem. I would seek the assistance from a certified mechanic to diagnose your car’s stalling issue and have the appropriate repairs made.
