Q: Ball joints rack and pinion

asked by on

Can bad ball joints put enough tension on the rack and pinion and cause it to crack

My car has 190000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

Personally, I have not heard of this situation before, but any failing suspension component puts more stress on the rest of the system as they are designed to work together. If you would like a mechanic to inspect the suspension system, hire one of our mobile experts. Bad suspension components often have ill effects on a vehicles performance and you can avoid a safety issue by having us come to you.
