Q: Abs lights is on

asked by on

How do i tell what abs or speed senor is bad

My car has 151 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

In order to find what ABS sensor is causing the ABS light to be on you will need a mechanic like one from YourMechanic come to you and scan the ABS system computer to retrieve the stored codes and even test the data output of all the system components to isolate the speed sensor that needs replaced. The rear ABS sensor needs replaced most of the time due to metal particles collecting on the sensor from normal metal wear in the rear end. Sometime just removing and cleaning the sensor and reinstalling it will fix the problem but the sensors are inexpensive and should be replaced.
