Answers to common Dodge Lancer questions

Q: Car battery light constantly goes on and off.
Answered by Jeff
Hello. The fact that the car struggles when you take the jumper cables off suggests that the battery is not able to maintain a charge on its own. I would recommend checking the alternator (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/alternator-replacement) and the voltage regulator (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/instrument-voltage-regulator-replacement)...
Q: Car is making a grinding/clanking sound
Answered by Robert
Hello. It sounds like you had a total transmission failure. When you have a severe internal breakage, like a sun shell or clutch pack, this will occur. The transmission will need to be disassembled and rebuilt in order to fix...
Q: No spark..
Answered by Jessica
Hello, and thank you for writing in. The first thing to do is make sure you have a fully functioning battery, and it is best to go have it tested. Then you can check the available power to your ignition...
Q: Break fluid leak from transmission
Answered by Jay
The fluid leaking from the transmission is clutch hydraulic fluid leaking from the clutch slave cylinder. You will need to replace the clutch slave cylinder and then bleed the clutch again.

Trusted by thousands of happy car owners

Patrick was very professional and polite. He inspected my car and found that it wasn't as bad as I thought it was. He is very friendly and I would DEFINATELY recommend Patrick to all my family, friends and co-workers.

Kevin showed up ready to do his job and did just that. He showed me a couple important things on my vehicle I had overlooked and was nothing less than incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and informative. I would, without hesitation recommend him to anyone I know and would gladly use him again.

Stephen was very professional and spoke to me in terms that I understood. Although the news about the car was not great, he explained the why's and what it would take to fix it. I will call on him again. Many thanks!
