Q: While driving the oil light comes and then the engine light and the car stops...I turn the car off and on and it resumes to work

While driving the oil indicator light comes on then the engine light and then the car will turn off ...I will then turn the car off and on and it’s back to working correctly.
My car has an automatic transmission.

The oil pressure light will usually come on when a few things could be happening. Either the motor is in fact low on oil, the oil pump could be failing or not pumping oil sufficiently or the oil pressure sending unit is not working properly and may be producing a faulty reading. If the engine is in fact low on oil, you may notice the temperature gauge reading above normal temperatures as a result of the lack of sufficient oil in the motor. I would recommend checking the actual oil level in the motor by using the dipstick. Be sure the oil level reaches the "full" mark. If this registers as "full" then you likely have a faulty oil pressure sending unit.

Generally, the check engine light comes on when something fairly serious is going on with the vehicle. This can happen for many different reasons such as a faulty mass air flow sensor, a faulty O2 sensor, a bad catalytic converter, bad spark plugs or spark plug wires and many other reasons. Due to the wide range of possibilities for the check engine light to come on, the best and most efficient way to narrow down the scope of what may be causing this is to have the vehicle hooked up to a scanning tool to download any potential fault codes that may have registered in the computer. This will allow a mechanic to determine more specifically what to look for in diagnosing your vehicle. I would recommend having an expert from YourMechanic come to your location to take a look at your vehicle to determine what may be causing your check engine light to come on.

The EGR valve (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/exhaust-gas-recirculation-egr-valve-replacement) (exhaust gas recirculation valve) takes exhaust emissions and recirculates it back into the air intake as to lower toxic emission levels. The EGR valve itself is pressure regulated, and needs...
