Q: When I accelerate truck starts to jerk

asked by on

My truck has two gas tanks when i use the front tank and im in a complete stop the i accelerate it starts to jerk and wont increase the speed. The only way it stops doing it is when i switch gas tanks

My car has 79000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

the problem sounds like the one fuel tank where you loose power is not producing enough pressure. You should test the fuel pressure at the fuel injector rail using both fuel tanks and compare them to each other. If either tank fuel pump is not within 35 to 45 psi then replace the in tank pump.
