Hi Kevin I'm Dom
Automotive Expert
Hi Dom I hope you are well . Can I ask is the noise only when the foot is on the clutch ?

No ..its not there when idling but present as soon as I press accelerator
Automotive Expert
Ok and is it always after changing gear or when accelerating ?

Both
Automotive Expert
Ok so it could be engine related a belt slipping or a bearing that is noisy when lodes but I suspect it could be the clutch release bearing that noise when first loaded

Despite gear change ...its present when accelaroti g in neutral
Automotive Expert
it is possible for both scenarios . It’s difficult to say for sure without hearing the noise

Could I call you and let you hear it
Automotive Expert
I dont take calls but you can video it for me

send to this number ?
Automotive Expert
Post on here yes

Ok Kevin I'm just in a classroom I'll do it on my break
Automotive Expert

That noise sounds very much like a bearing or something of this description . I would start by getting the belt taken off and the engine run to see if it stops

The cam belt taken off ..what bearing g could it be ?
Automotive Expert
No the alternator belt . Could be the alternator , tensioner , ac compressor ( if fitted )

Kevin do you not think in anyway its Turbo related ?
Automotive Expert
It’s possible but I would expect power loss

There is an element of power loss.. its struggles to get to 30 mph in 3rd gear ..and crawls up hill ...but last time turbo went it literally just limped.
Automotive Expert
I would get the intake pipe off it and check for free play in the turbine

Do you have an idea of what youd expect it to cost Kevin ..I've got ut booked in at citreon
Automotive Expert
For diagnosis around £100 if it needed a turbo £1500
