asked by on March 21, 2016

I can hear a ticking sound from my engine. I believe it might be a lifter.

Some ticking noises can be normal. The fuel injectors do make a ticking noise as part of their normal operation and depending on the vehicle can be heard louder than usual. I would ask for help from one of the mechanics at YourMechanic. They will be able to let you know if the noise from the engine is normal or it needs to be diagnosed and repaired.
