You're a car guy....question for you. I recently purchased a 2912 Subaru Outback with 139k miles. Got a great deal. Car's been running just fine. Obd port reads no issues. Carvpassed inspection. My issue is that the car sounds like a propellor aircraft when it hits 20 and the sound increases and decreases with speed. I cant describe it any other way. The transmission seems to be working fine.....bad wheel bearings maybe? What would make that propellor fan sound? Thanks in advance. Mechanic's Assistant: When was your transmission fluid last checked? During the last oil change 500 miles ago? Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Outback yourself? What have you tried so far? I am not. Carcasses inspection in late June. I'm just paying fir routine maintenance. Thought it could be tires/alignment. It is not Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you? Not that I can think of

Does the noise decrease when turn or take a curve to the right or left and if so, which? Does it sound like it is from the rear or front of the vehicle and if from the front, at one of the wheel areas or engine compartment?

Noise isn't different when turning. It seems to come from the back but it (the sound increases and decreases based on acceleration)

HI, Ok, that is going to be either a rear hub bearing or rear cv axle. If you are going to be checking yourself, jack up the rear end, and at each tire, grab the top and bottom and shake. If one has play, it is the hub bearing on that side. If both are tight, then it is one of the rear cv axles. you will need slide underneath and check for torn cv boot and check for play when you try to shake the shafts. Thanks for using Just Answer and letting me help you. I hope I provided what you needed. If you find more help is still needed, let me know by listing out any remaining questions you have on this concern. I hope the remainder of your day is well.

My car is over heating and blowing cold air.

This is often a sign of low transmission fluid (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/transmission-fluid-service) or a faulty transmission control solenoid.
