Q: Rear shock creaks when turning steering wheel.

asked by on October 11, 2017

My rear drivers side shock freaks when I turn the steering wheel. Only when I'm not moving. I have gotten back there, and the shock moves around when I turn, causing the noise. I have gotten under there and took an impact gun to it, but it still moves.

My car has 95000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

If the shock has worn out bushings or the U bracket was overtightened it may be hitting metal to metal and U bracket is rubbing metal of shock. Check bracket and shock bushings.
