Q: Put in diesel instead of gasoline

asked by on

I put diesel in my car instead of gasoline.

A: You will need to get the diesel flushed out...

You will need to get the diesel flushed out of the fuel system immediately. Diesel fluid is harmful to the components inside of the standard fuel system such as the fuel pump, fuel lines and fuel injectors. Diesel fluid will clog injectors and fuel pumps if it is not removed soon enough. In almost all cases the clogged components will have to be replaced because they are now contaminated with a fluid that it's not meant to withstand.
