Q: My van will only start when the check engine light comes on

asked by on

Why does it only start if the engine light is on

My car has 206787 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

Hi there. To be honest, there really is no justified answer to this type of situation. In order to determine what is causing the check engine light to illuminate, you should have a professional mechanic come to your location and complete a check engine light inspection first. This should give them an indication as to what’s causing this issue.
