Transmission Fluid Service $140.08 - $502.73 Get a Quote

Hi There, It sounds like your vehicle may be a bit low on transmission fluid or you may potentially have a bad transmission control solenoid. As you know, the transmission works on hydraulic pressure built up from the fluid inside and uses this pressure to activate solenoids that cause the transmission to shift. When these are not working properly or when you have low transmission fluid, this does not happen which usually results in erratic shifting patterns, or in some cases no shifting at all. I would suggest having a professional from YourMechanic come to your location to diagnose and inspect your vehicle.

Brake light on with cruise control kicking off
Hi there. Most of the time this is caused by a bad brake switch. When the switch does not work the computer cannot tell when you apply the brakes, which will affect the braking and cruise control systems (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/symptoms-of-a-bad-or-failing-cruise-control-brake-release-switch). It...
my question is can a rear main seal leak spray oil up into the engine compartment on top of the valve cover area on passenger sid?
It may be possible since the oil can run down the oil pan and then get into the belts and slug up the passenger side of the motor. This is not as likely as the front of the engine crankshaft...
When I accelerate from a stop, car jerks
Hello. There are several potential faults that you can have on your 2007 BMW 750i. The cause of the problem may be a transmission slippage, traction control malfunction, or the jerk could result from worn spark plugs (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/spark-plugs-replacement). I recommend...

My MAP sensor failed I replaced it then it failed again in one day
Hi and thanks for contacting YourMechanic. This issue is not the MAP sensor (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/manifold-absolute-pressure-sensor-map-sensor-replacement), but rather the mass air flow (MAF) sensor (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/mass-airflow-sensor-replacement). This sensor is usually missed unless the computer sees it malfunctioning. Most of the time the MAF...
Transmission slips.
If you are reusing your old fluid you are defeating the purpose of changing the filter. I would only say this is ok if the ATF (automatic transmission fluid) was already spotlessly clean. If not, I recommend having a ATF...
Diagnosing a heater core problem
A common tell tale sign of the heater core (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/heater-is-not-working-inspection) not working is the heater not providing warm heat when turning it on. You may also notice the floor being a bit damp in the event that the heater core...
When I turn on my AC the radiator fans do not turn on. The fans do come on when the car warms up so I know they are working and the fuses are good. The AC compressor does come on and the air blows ice cold when the car is moving. Car is a 2006 Chrysler Sebring Sedan 2.7l v6.
The control circuit for the fans needs to be checked. For example, there is usually a condenser fan relay (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/condenser-fan-relay-replacement) in the A/C electrical controls. There could be a fault with that relay and/or wiring problems, perhaps even just a...
