asked by on

My car is locked in neutral it cant slot into reverse or park but it slots into the other gears help please

My car has 169000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

Hi there:

If your Civic is an automatic, and the shifter is stuck in neutral, it’s most likely a linkage issue that is causing your problems. It might be a damaged shift gate under the shifter that is causing it to stick in this gear as well. The best way to properly diagnose this problem is to have a professional mobile mechanic complete a car is hard to shift inspection.
