Q: I put too much oil in my car and its smoking

asked by on

What should i do if i added too much oil.

My car has 40000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

You should drain it down or have it changed. Over filling oil can cause the engine to get locked up from too much oil in the crankcase. I’d recommend getting some assistance from a certified mechanic who can come and perform an oil change or drain some oil for you to fix this issue.
