Do I text first?

Hello, My name is \*\*\*\*\* \*\*\*\*\* thank you for using JustAnswer. I am sorry to hear about the problem you are having and I hope that I can help you. The system will automatically ask for a phone call so feel free to decline as I would prefer to text. How many miles on the car?

37,000
Automotive Expert
Ok very odd for that kind of mileage and no engine light. If you put it in gear 1 and floor it it will not rev over 2k at all?

It's an automatic. I'm not sure how to do that.
Automotive Expert
Is there any manual control or shifting?

Yep, just tried it. It won't rev to 2k on 1stIt seems to be reversing just fine
Automotive Expert
In reverse it will rev over 2k? How about in park?

New symptoms. It's revving and even started going, but it took a while for it to go.
Automotive Expert
OK, that eliminates what I was thinking. Do you have a code puller or code reader?

I don't, but there's an O'Reileys within sight they might
Automotive Expert
Yes see if they do that. Luckily that car is under warranty still.

No codes on the carCould it be the transmission?
Automotive Expert
It can be the transmission however I would say more turbo related, assuming it is turbo. Is that correct?
Automotive Expert
Any smoke come out of the exhaust at all?

There was smoke coming out of the engine the other day.None from the exhaust
Automotive Expert
Ok using the information I see on Identifix that is an issue with smoke out exhaust and under hood and the turbo going bad. The bearings go bad or the shaft break. Make sure you check your oil and hopefully you have had the oil changed regularly. I would make and appointment at the dealer and they will hopefully fix it for you under warranty.

I just change the oil about a week ago. How do I contact the dealer?
Automotive Expert
Just call service at any local dealer.
Automotive Expert
I can locate one for you if you would like, what is your zip code? Is there anything else I can help you with? I wish you luck and it should be pretty smooth Hyundai is really good with there warranty coverage. (I was there 2 weeks ago and they replaced a transfer case for me)

I have a tow truck coming. I was just wondering... even if the turbo was bad, shouldn't I be able to drive?
Automotive Expert
You probably can however I would not it is a safer bet to just get it towed and reduce any chance of further damage.

That's the thing, my car isn't driving at all.
Automotive Expert
It could and probably is blocking air flow because the vanes are not turning and not allowing the engine to breath. With no air flow it can not make power.

Ok, that makes sense.
Automotive Expert
Yeah unfortunately, I wish you the best and I bet it will be pretty easy for them to do and get you back up and running. Good luck and let me know if you need anything else.

I should be fine. Thanks for the help.
Automotive Expert
My pleasure thank you for the question.
