My car has an automatic transmission.

Hi Lynda. Thanks for contacting us tonight. Replacing the fuse box is a rather delicate procedure that requires some specialty tools to complete correctly. With the car being more than five years old, it’s quite possible that you’re going to snap a few of the tabs regardless, so it’s best to purchase a replacement kit that includes those. If you’re going to attempt to do this job on your own, you really need to purchase a service and repair manual for your 2010 HHR and follow the steps exactly as written - and in the order they recommend.

Changing transmission fluid on a high-mileage car
It probably has been changed. Here is the problem with changing the transmission fluid (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/how-do-you-know-when-your-transmission-fluid-needs-to-be-changed). On a normal car, you should change it every 40,000 miles or so. So if you don't, and you go 198,000 miles and never change...
I bought an ignition control module and no one seems to know where it goes. Is it in the distributor fuse box or computer or where
It is in the distributor (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/how-does-a-distributor-work). Remove the distributor cap, remove the rotor. There are two connectors on the outside, and one on the inside. Be very careful with the one on the inside, it tends to be brittle. Two...
Car made a weird roaring sound this morning when driving at low speeds in light rain.
I would recommend having your suspension checked (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/brakes-steering-and-suspension-system-inspection) thoroughly to determine if you have any play in your tie rods (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/tie-rod-end-replacement), ball joints (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/ball-joint-front-replacement), wheel bearings (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/wheel-bearings-replacement), control arms (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/control-arm-assembly-replacement), etc. This could be the reason that the vehicle jerks...

Would a used transmission have to be programmed with my vin #
More and more automobile parts are being tagged electronically with the VIN. This is ostensibly done to make it hard for chop shops who steal cars and sell them piece by piece to the repair market. I've not run into...
