How do you set a speed for the vehicle with the Speed Control system?

Your car’s Speed Control system lets you set a speed and then maintain it without having to hold the accelerator manually. It’s definitely convenience, but it can also help to combat fatigue during long drives. Here’s how you set the system:

  1. While driving, press the ON button.

  2. Press the gas and get to the speed you want to maintain.

  3. Press the Set button.

  4. Make sure the green speed light comes on in the dash.

  5. Remove your foot from the gas pedal.

  6. Press Cancel or OFF at any time, or hit the brake, to disable the Speed Control system.

Tips

  • Only use the Speed Control system while you’re traveling in an area where you can maintain that speed for the long term.

  • You may experience slight changes in speed when going up or down a hill.

  • Speed Control will automatically switch off if you’re driving uphill and the vehicle drops by more than 10 miles per hour in speed.
