Hello Chris. Nice to hear from you today! I'm sorry to hear you are having this problem. I know this can be frustrating. Did you have the 2003 computer programmed for a 2006 model [transmission](/topics-transmission-honda/) at all?

I have a 2003 Honda Accord two dr coupe with 3.0 v6 I pulled the tranny and got one out of a 2006 same motor amd tranny both ending in BAYA I have one code Reader that is throwing p0974 the other one threw code p0700 I am wondering If I have to change the computer Over because my d light is flashing My check engine Light is on amd my tcs light I done checked the siliniods they are good but I did have one clip that was broke I rewired Or do u think it could be in that wire
Automotive Expert
Thank you for your reply and that information as this does help me better understand the situation. Please give me one moment to type out some info for you. I’ll be right back!

No I didn't I just so pulled motor and tranny put my Motor back in with the tranny out of 2006 the only difference Was the main plug coming Out the bottom of the transmission but I was able to unplug it and use the only One it plugged right up

Thank you for holding Chris! The compute programming for the 2006 model is different than your 2003 model which is most likely why this code is coming up. One of the causes for this code is computer programming. What needs to be done is to check with a dealer to see if they can change the programming in your current computer to work with your existing transmission. This is the best thing to do. If they can then will charge anywhere between $50 and $100 to do this. If the programming cannot be changed then the computer will need to be swapped out. I would verify with a dealer parts department first before having it swapped out that it will in fact work with your vehicle before installing it.

Ok well it's already installed I just ain't switched the computer yet
Automotive Expert
O.k. I do recommend to make sure with a dealer that it is o.k. to switch the computer before switching it as sometimes it isn't compatible. If it isn't compatible then I recommend that a dealer checks into programming your 2003 computer for the 2006 model transmission.

another question is 2004 Nissan Maxima with the 3.5 I have changed the plugs and springs In them amd the wire just not the coil pack it is getting A spark but when u first start it it really wants to die or not start at all u have to try it three or four timesOk but if u look them up it say everything From 03 to 07
Automotive Expert
The computer should be compatible then since it is the same from 03 to 07. Unfortunately on your second new question on the Nissan vehicle, that has to be opened up as a new question as you did with this question due to website policy. You can use the link below to open it up in the Nissan category to then be able to receive help with it!
