Hello Peter, this is my first time using this site so bare with me. I own a 1998 Lexus LX 470. Recently after starting up my car and drive out of my community I've been hearing a squealing sound but just when I turn left. Would this be my serpentine belt being loose? I also have been hearing weird noise when my ac is turned on and it happens randomly. Not sure if these are related because they be driven by the same belt? I did smell a burning s,mell as well yesterday from the left front side. I should mention i had timing belt and the serpentine belt replaced with a new alternator over a year ago if that helps? Thank you for your time!

It sounds like the problem could be with the blower motor resistor (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/heater-blower-motor-resistor-replacement). If you only have one speed that the motor works on or the blower motor stops working all together you may need to have this replaced. A...

Is it possible to drive car with no water pump?
Hey there, To answer your first question, yes, it is very possible to drive a car without a water pump (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/symptoms-of-a-bad-or-failing-water-pump). In fact, in the late 90's, it was popular with many shade tree mechanics or hot rod enthusiasts to...

I wouldn't assume that the rear converter is bad unless the mechanic actually performed a diagnostic on the converter AND then explained to you what was done, what was found and WHY the solution is to replace the converter. If...
