I have a Ford Mustang stuck on code p2111 Mechanic's Assistant: Just to clarify, what's the exact code? And have you tried to reset it? It is P2111 : throttle actuator control system stuck open i am not sure how to reset it but the check [engine](/topics-engine-ford/) light is on Mechanic's Assistant: What year is your Mustang? 2016 ecoboost Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Mustang yourself? What have you tried so far? I am fixing it myself, but I was wondering what would be the safe first steps into resetting the throttle body. Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you? The [exhaust](/topics-exhaust-ford/) did make a knocking noise before I turned it off

Hi, I have a 2016 2.3l mustang ecoboost with 93k miles on it. Last week I switched to a Ford performance 70mm throttle body and was having no issues until earlier today. I usually always use 91 octane gas but I was using 94 for the day. I reversed into my slight uphill parking space and when I put it in park I accidentally revved the engine and it started making fast knocking sounds before I turned it off. I turned the accessories back on and since the check engine was on I checked the code and it popped up as P02111 stating the throttle is stuck open. Would this be an issue with the new throttle body itself or something with the engine? I have yet to try to turn the car on, since I would not want to cause any damage if there was any damage to begin with.I don’t have the VIN at the moment. The car is at my mothers house for today.

Where did you get the throttle body? The throttle body is faulty, that is what is causes the P2111.

I got it from American Muscle, it is the Ford Performance one
Automotive Expert
Do you still have the factory throttle body? Did they offer a warranty with the throttle body?

I still have the factory one, and I am unsure about warranty but I will try to get touch with Ford parts to see what they can offerWould it be safe to turn on as is?
Automotive Expert
It should, but if you leave the performance throttle body on there, it can cause no throttle response when it fails.

I see, I will get in contact with my supplier and let them know what is going on. I appreciate your time and patience with my vehicle issue! Thank you!
