Automotive Expert
Sorry about that.

Automotive Expert
Are you driving the car?

Automotive Expert
Sorry about that. I don’t what else to think of. I will opt out and let another technician help you.
Automotive Expert
You need to repair the wiring and reinstall the switch. If you are not able to do this then you'll have to get a repair shop to do it.

I've reinstalled a new switch for Ford fusion. The light is laminated but the flashers are still on
Automotive Expert
Did you repair the wiring properly?

Yeah it was 3 wires matched the colors
Automotive Expert
Ok I'll have to get a wiring diagram tomorrow and we can do some testing. Do you have a voltmeter to do some testing?

I've identified the hot and ground and the neutral like I said its lights working

Ok good. I'll get the wiring diagrams tomorrow and give you some tests to do. What [engine](/topics-engine-ford/) does it have and does it have daytime running lights?

Automotive Expert

There's a violet/black wire and a violet wire on that connector. Are you sure you don't have those wires crossed? The black/violet wire should be a ground signal. The brown/yellow wire should get a ground when you press the switch. It sends the ground to the BCM when you press the switch so the BCM can turn on the flashers. The violet wire is the backlighting voltage for the switch. The BCM (body control module) sends a voltage signal to the hazard flasher lamp switch to monitor for a hazard lamp function request. When the hazard flasher lamp switch is pressed, the voltage signal is routed to ground, indicating a request to activate or deactivate the hazard lamp function. When the BCM (body control module) receives a request for the hazard lamps, the BCM (body control module) supplies on/off voltage to all the turn lamps. The timed on/off cycle for the hazard lamps is approximately 70 times per minute, regardless of bulb outage.

I fixed it

Awesome!

Car not starting in temperatures over 80 degrees
Hi there. This can be a common issue that vehicles encounter when the temperature outside is warm or if there is a sticky starter solenoid. The solenoid will stick even if sufficient current is applied to its switch. I'd suggest...

My automatic 2009 Jeep Wrangler shows 4 codes: P0562, P0306, C00377 & B2100.
Hi there, thanks for writing in. I would suggest replacing the battery first. A battery at 10V usually means one of the cells has failed. The P0306 code (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/p0306-obd-ii-trouble-code-cylinder-6-misfire-detected-by-jay-safford) points out a misfire on cylinder 6. Since it is only...
