Dave, I came back to work from lunch break and while attempting to park in the lot the lever wasn't going past reverse. I tried it a few times and it was still happening. I had to leave the key in the car and the gear in neutral.
My car has an automatic transmission.

The main cause of engine stall on this particular model vehicle is the mass air flow sensor. Normally, this will generate a code on the ECM, that can be detected with a scan tool. The MAF sensor generates a waveform...
Should I get the piston rings replaced or just swap the entire engine?
First off, if it isn't smoking (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/smoke-from-engine-or-exhaust-inspection), it probably isn't burning all that oil. A quart a week is four quarts a month and about 1000-2000 miles. That's a lot of oil. It is most likely a combination of leaking...

Brake lights stay on 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
Hi there - I believe your brake light switch (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/symptoms-of-a-bad-or-failing-brake-light-switch) is either sticking or mis-adjusted, resulting in the brake lights remaining on after the brakes are used. Turning the ignition switch to the "Off" position removes power to that circuit,...

i would like to know if i can do oil changes for other people and not be a qualified mechanic
Hi there. Changing oil, oil filters and air filters is typically a job that an average or non-professionally trained or certified mechanic can complete. It really depends on your comfort level, tools and accessibility to appropriate disposal methods (as oil...
