Q: cost of maniverter

asked by on

I just got a quote from my mechanic for $1648. to replace the maniverter in my son's car so it will pass inspection. This seems way outrageously high!! Is this quote correct for replacing a Maniverter??

My car has 130000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

Depending on the engine you have this price would be pretty close if both of them are being replaced. If this is for only one then it is high. You can get each manivertor online for less than $500 each not including labor to install.
