Good morning Kiyera it's nice to meet you. It sounds like there is an air pocket in the [heater core](/topics-heater-core-chevy/). Which [engine](/topics-engine-chevy/) does the car have in it?

1.4l fl turbo dohc
Automotive Expert
Thanks, \*\*\*\*\* \*\*\*\*\* while I look up the procedure for getting all the air out.
Automotive Expert
There is a vent you have to remove when you fill it with coolant. This will get all the air out, it should stop overheating, but also give you heat at idle once it's out. The procedure is the same for all engines, the 1.8 and the 1.4 turbo [https://www.dropbox.com/s/hw7j0pzl75vgh5y/cooling%20system%20fill.pdf?dl=0](https://www.dropbox.com/s/hw7j0pzl75vgh5y/cooling%20system%20fill.pdf?dl=0) Try this and let me know. Thanks.

ok will try later on i have work are you available 24/7 ?
Automotive Expert
If you reply here and I am not online, I will get it as soon as I am back online. I am a human :) so I eat and sleep like everyone!

ok, one more thing if the coolant is completely coming out if it was a air pocket the coolant would not leave correct?
Automotive Expert
When you drive it forces the air pocket to move around in the system. This is why it overheats, and also why you get low or no heat at idle. The air pocket is forcing the overheating which is why the coolant is coming out. When the coolant comes out it's replaced with air, so you end up with more air in the system causing it to overheat.

ok , are you able to see videos?
Automotive Expert
If you can send a link I can view a video

everybody continues to tell me the radiator but the radiator is not hot its the the engine .the fans are working properlyhttps://share.icloud.com/photos/0147LuyQsmz1QK4Osuf9GEMFg
Automotive Expert
It says the video is uploading and to check back soon. Is the radiator leaking when the engine is off?

no radiator leak .
Automotive Expert
Right, so the radiator isn't the issue. Try getting the air out of it, like the procedure shows, and let me know. It's possible you might have an issue with a [head gasket](/topics-head-gasket-chevy/), but we have to try this first.

ok , now the head gasket is my next question. in the reservoir when i add coolant white bubbles show
Automotive Expert
The only way to tell if there is a head gasket issue is to do a combustion test on the cooling system. This is usually a test strip or in some cases a thing you put over the fill and run the engine if [exhaust](/topics-exhaust-chevy/) gas is present it will change color.

ok , thank you .i will keep you updated
Automotive Expert
You're welcome and sounds good.
