Q: Car overheated and now will not even start.

asked by on January 22, 2017

We assumed the car was dead, but someone said there may be a safety feature to protect engine when it overheats. Is that even a thing and if so might it.be in that car? If so, how do we check if that's the problem, and if it is, how do we fix it? We were all set to junk the car,but if there's a possibility it's ok, we'd hate to just junk it especially since it has 4 new tires on it and we actually need another car.
My car has an automatic transmission.
