About 6 months ago I had timing chain and serpentine belt replacement, battery replacement and fuel line replacement 1 month ago. Just had air filter and oil change and fuel system clean last week, Within 1/2 hour experienced car jerking upon acceleration, also rpm increase to 3-4 when press gas pedal, slow power on shifting. Looked under hood to listen for sounds, found maf sensor completely detached, plugged it back in, noticed difference in idle, also found vacuum hose broken and completely detached...went to take car back to mechanic who just performed above services..car ran okay, no jerk..stopped at fast food shop on the way. When turned on ignition, car ran 1 block, started jerking again, then a complete stall, no reignition. Had car towed to mechanic they indicate it may be a rod bearing issue that seized motor? $2500 to repair or replace? Is this an actual engine issue or negligence on their part for the detached/broken parts which should have been inspected on other visits?
