Q: Car idles low

asked by on

Car idles low at 500 rpms when I'm at a stop. I cleaned the throttle body but no luck. It's a very noticeable shake. 2015 corolla 28k miles. No sensor or light on. Please help!

My car has 28000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

Hi there. In most cases, a low engine idle is caused by an idle control valve that is damaged, a vacuum leak or in some case, clogged fuel injectors. It is also typical for an engine idle to be low if the car’s AC is on, and has been running for a while.
