Q: Bubbles and pressure in the overflow tank

asked by on February 19, 2017

I purchased the truck Wednesday I have had to put 3 gallons of antifreeze in it and see air bubbles in the coolant tank. And seems to have excessive pressure. Not sure what the temperature is because the gauge don't work. Is this a head gasket issue or what. Have seen no leaks

If the coolant level was low due to a leak, such leaks can be found during a leak diagnostic with simple pressure testing. If the cooling system doesn’t maintain pressure, and no external leak is visible, coolant could be leaking internally. Alternatively, you can perform a chemical test for exhaust in the coolant to determine if there is a head gasket breach (although block and head cracks can cause leaks, too). If you desire that this problem be diagnosed by a certified Mechanic, dispatched by YourMechanic right to your location, please request an engine overheating diagnostic and the responding certified mechanic will get this resolved for you. Low oil pressure, trouble staying started, oil leaking
Hi Jordan. When you have a rear main seal leak, it's very difficult to repair without removing the engine. Low oil pressure is typically caused by low oil levels, but also a failing oil pump. However, it usually does not...
