Q: Broken Calliper Pin Bolt

asked by on January 07, 2017

I tried to change my front brake pads and in the process of trying to remove the top calliper pin I've broken the bolt that holds it in place. I am wondering if this bolt is 'special', as in is it specific to the pin or could I use another bolt of the same size as a substitute? The calliper pin itself is in good condition and does not need to be replaced.

My car has 186000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

Diesel fuel accidentally added to car and car won't start
