Q: Black smoke from engine

asked by on July 01, 2017

Hello, after 5 minutes since starting my car i noticed black smoke coming from the hood and exhaust.

I popped the hood and noticed black smoke coming from the engine (around manifold) and exhaust when i rev the engine.

My exhaust manifold has been cracked for a while but hasnt produced black smoke until today.

My engine also feels like it is losing power as i have to step harder on the accelerator.

Any thoughts on what it might be?

My car has 158450 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.
