Q: Anti-theft system in 2006 Chevrolet Aveo not turning off

asked by on January 26, 2016

The anti-theft system won't turn off in my car.

Hi. The key fobs have internal batteries that eventually wear out and must be replaced. Have a mechanic replace the battery and if that doesn’t address the problem, I would recommend having a mechanic from Yourmechanic take a look at the actually brain of the car alarm which may have failed internally.

Hi There, I believe you are correct in that the horn relay may be faulty or potentially you may have a bad horn switch itself, however this would be a rare situation. The horn relay (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/horn-relay-replacement) is generally what will...
